Edinburgh: Agenda Hotel: 'Highly recommend a stay at the Agenda.'

At very short notice we struggled to find a hotel with a family room in Edinburgh. The Agenda saved the day. The family room was huge. Large enough for a double bed, a comfortable fold down bed settee, and another single folding bed and with lots more space. Well appointed room with large screen TV and DVD player, ensuite bathroom with over bath shower. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was probably one of the best we have ever experienced, cooked to perfection. Within walking distance to the Zoo and a ten minute bus ride to Princess Street and the Castle and 4 miles from the airport.

'The hotel was of a good standard with modern facilities and decoration. The hotel staff were helpful and friendly and the room was spacious, clean and warm. It was also a quiet room considering the position of the hotel next to the A8. The hotel also has free parking which is important and good bus links into the city centre (about 10mins). The spacious room, with plenty of storage. The room was clean and the decor good. The food both at breakfast and dinner was of a very high standard and the staff friendly, informative, smart and well mannered.

'Second stay, and still best value in this part of town. Easy links to city, airport and m/ways. Local shops and a range of reasonable price restaurants nearby, but the hotel bar and restaurant are excellent. I believe it has been taken over by a new owner and some refurbishment and extra services are inhand, redo the bathrooms is first priorlty I hope. Wireless internet is a must for business users, please. Don't lose the friendly and efficient staff, they are the best assets you have.' (99957207)

'Excellent hotel, modern and stylish yet friendly and plenty of staff to provide good service. Did not eat in the restaurant other than breakfast - which was above average - but did have the bar meals which again were of excellent standard and reasonably priced for the quality. There are no lifts to the floors, however someone carried my case to the room. The shuttle bus from the airport seemed to drop us off several stops before the hotel, but not all buses stop at all stops so this was a little confusing. Comfortable beds, good size rooms (we have stayed in both a double and a twin - the double was very spacious.

The washbasin in the bathroom of the twin room was rather small

'Excellent hotel, bright and modern. The location is very good for business or pleasure - reasonably close to city bypass, airport and M8/M9, but also easy to get to city centre by car, bus or taxi. I have stayed in other hotels in the area and traffic noise is a problem, but it didn't bother me here. Local shops, bars, restaurants are very close. As I was visiting a relative living in Edinburgh I would have valued more detail about the location. The room had everything that we needed for our short break. The staff were welcoming and helpful. Clean and comfortable rooms, staff were efficient and friendly, situated in a pleasant area on a good bus route to the ciy centre. The cost of the accomodation was reasonable, I didn't feel I was being exploited because the festival was on (unlike most of the other hotels I had looked at!)
